Subject: Jerry Wilkins is dead, Class of 64

Jerald Wilkins

Jerald Eugene "Jerry" Wilkins, 61, of Greenwood, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.

Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Wilson and Knight Chapel. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood.

He was born in Cleveland and was a graduate of Cleveland High School. He was a former resident of Youngstown, Ohio and lived in Florida for some years. Moved to Greenwood in 1976. He was a meat cutter with Liberty Cash Grocery, Piggly Wiggly, Jitney Jungle and Save A Lot. He was associated with Fresh Market when he became ill. He was formerly a member of the Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by a son, Jerald Wilkins, Jr. and brother, Buddy Wilkins.

He is survived by three daughters, Susan Wilkins Purifoy of Cordova, Tenn., Martha Renee Butts and Rhonda A. Homeyer, both of Arlington, Tenn.; two sons, Mark Williams of Brooksville, Fla. and Michael Homeyer of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Mary Ann Sumrall of Amory and Peggy Love of Florence, Ala.; and three grandchildren.
