Subject: I would like to ask a question without being attacked LOL, it may not be the right place to do this right anyway....... I would like to put my daughter in pageants she is 5 and in my opinion very pretty but that doesnt always matter right? I mean I am not pointing fingers or saying names because that would be mean but sometimes I look at banners and click on the links to the sites and see children who appear far more pretty to me. What exactly are they judged on? I would also like to know what all do the judges look for and how should I prepare myself for the first pageant should we decide to participate in one?

Subject: I am looking for a little input and any input that can help me make a decision. I am honestly thinking of becoming a director. I do realize all that is involved and I do think that I can do the job even with all the stress that involved One of the things that I am wondering is what does every one think when comparing natural to glitz? It seems to me that alot of the systems are starting to tone things down but in my state the contestants still seem to be high glitz so If i attempt to introduce a more natural system is this setting myself up for failure before i even get the first pageant held? Also do you think its better to start my own system or go with a system that has been around for years? Can anyone recommend a good system? If there are any directors or formoer directors who could tell me about franchise fees or what is too much to pay to the nation director I would also be interested in this. Last question what does everyone expect or want concerning prizes, crowns etc.

That is so true whats the deal with it? We need a more reliable board that will stay up all the time. I bet the owners do it on purpose so that their favorite banners stay there at all times. I have heard great things about this system but we never had the opportunity to try it. I think Lacy will be holding at Circus Circus again, I know many moms were upset about this due to the rooms that are reserved for pageants and how shabby they are. We did Crowning Beauty last year which was held at the same hotel and when we checked in I had to insist that I be moved into the main section of the hotel, those rooms resembled more of a Motel than a Hotel anyway I think Lacy cleared this problem and the accomodations are better. Looks like there is alot of drama going on in this if you look on the 35575 board you will see the complaints. This is typical though with every pageant it seems, I have never been able to go on a board and see everyone bragging how great a pageant was it just doesnt happen. No one knows how to lose with grace. Back to the subject though, apparently Lacy posted something to one of the email groups and ticked a few moms off, someone one else claimed it was a message that Lacy simply forwarded to the group either way I think she should have just not gotten involved because now she looks like she is playing favortism to some and while this may not be true you know many pageant moms will take this and run spreading the negativity so that when her child doesnt win she has the reason. I agree. The bids up to $3.49 shoot that doesnt put a dent in the HT fees. The trophy that was posted on ebay has actually now been removed. i wonder what happened and why ebay decided to step in and remove this item. i would have never in a million dollars posted the trophy, my childs photos etc but did the post go against some rules that ebay has?
