It's too bad Dwight Frye died so young.

It's too bad too that he wasn't offered better roles after "Bride of Frankenstein."

I wondered why he was only used in bit parts later on, because besides the horror films, he played good gangsters and henchmen in the early thirties.

I think Dwight Frye would have made a better "Mad Ghoul" than David Bruce. Because Frye was totally believable as "Renfield," both as the sane real estate agent and the mad man in "Dracula."

He also did a great job as Fritz in "Frankenstein" and Karl in "Bride of Frankenstein."

After BoF. Dwight Frye appeared in all but the last two of the Frankenstein sequels. They were only bit parts though.

He had a very small crowd scene in Son of Frankenstein, then he was one of the villagers in Ghost, and then he had a little bigger role in Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man.

I wonder had he lived on, if he would have been in both of the House films too? And maybe even in "A&C Meet Frankenstein." Frye also had good comedy timing.

Besides the Universal horror films, Frye had two good roles as dimwits in "The Vampire Bat" with Lionel Atwill and "Dead Men Walk" with George Zucco.
