Subject: Favorite horror films with Karloff and Lugosi

Both actors were a master of their craft and seeing them together on screen was a rarity as in 'The Black Cat' (1934).

The Black Cat (1934) is the best teaming of Universal's twin titans of terror. A suspenseful and at times unsettling film from legendary director Edgar G. Ulmer.

The Raven (1935) is also excellent, with Lugosi as the Poe-obsessed Dr Richard Vollin and Karloff as the ill-fated Edmund Bateman. Although Karloff has top billing, the script favors Lugosi, and he is essentially the star of the picture.

The Invisible Ray (1936) I don't remember this one as well, but I do recall that it is very interesting, a horror film with dashes of science fiction.

Black Friday (1940) By this time Lugosi's star status had declined considerably. His role as gangster Eric Marnay is small, but he makes the most of it.

Don't forget the near classic pairing of Karloff and Lugosi in "Son of Frankenstein" (1939). Lugosi as Ygor steals pretty much every scene he's in.
