In reply to: Rick 's message, "Favorite moments in 'The Invisible Man' (1933)" on 07:04:47 11/16/10 Tue

In addition to the fine points indicated by Rick, I enjoyed the special effects (advanced for the time), bandage removal and his invisibility, bewilderment of villagers, patrons, and owners of the inn.

He eventually became mad, murderous, and sought further domination in lieu of the antidote he originally sought to counteract the chemical causing the invisibility. He initially wanted privacy for a chem lab like settup. As time progressed, this was not to be and things worsened.

The authorities stalked and tracked him by his footprints in the snow leading to a barn. Griffin (Invisible Man)is forced out when the barn is set ablaze. He is shot by police aiming generally where fresh footprints, apparently visible, are being formed in the snow.

In the end, he becomes totally visible, and we see Claude Rains in the final moments with his love, Flora (Gloria Stuart). Most entertaining for an early sound film. Break out more popcorn.
