This is one of the early epic type movies that ushered us into the Fifties...with epics such as Quo Vadis, The Egyptian, The Robe, Ten Commandments, etc. This 1949 offering of Samson and Delilah stars Victor Mature and Hedy Lamarr, both most talented...with Mature playing the bawdy, strongman Samson, and Lamarr as the beautiful temptress Delilah. Produced by Cecil B. DeMille, nicely done in color, good rousing music score by Victor Young. The stars are a treat to watch, the story is good, production is colorful and in some ways, perhaps some years ahead of its time(cinematography), plus the music is good, and its not overly long. Break out the popcorn and enjoy!
