That's a pretty good one Tim. Saw it as a kid in the theater, and many times later on the small screen. Colorful, good drama, action/horror, albeit a bit short...I wanted for more. Oh, that particular version placed the story on the West Coast.

The more recent offering with Tom Cruise, and frankly more realistic to story walking-like machines, is placed on the East Coast. I enjoyed both actually. The 1953 version though seemed ahead of its time for visuals and sound, plus besides being being action loaded, it was colorful.

These were bad aliens, no ET, no nice guys looking to share good things. Maybe they were ruled by Ming!?
