Subject: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) turns 30

Hard to believe, but 30 years ago I was there and Lucas did it again, in his collaberation with Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford. They brought back the action-packed movie serials and it worked in the picture.

The first movie was great; I also enjoyed subsequent ones...in what seemed to be a trilogy. To me, the additional skull flick recently made (2008), stretched things a bit far in terms of paranormal, UFO, and stretching the imagination in stuntwork, and CG perhaps.

BUT, the skull movie was fun movie to watch, and it was nice seeing Indy tie the knot with Marion, nicely played by Karen Allen...and since we learn Indy apparently had a son, made Indiana Jones open for more movies, as in Son of Indiana Jones eg.

A great film, I remember seeing it at a drive-in back in 1981. Fast paced fun in the tradition of the classic cliffhangers!
