Subject: William Campbell

Actor William Campbell died earlier this year at age 87. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Campbell is well-remembered by Star Trek fans as Trelane in "The Squire of Gothos". He was also the Klingon Captain Koloth in "The Trouble with Tribbles", a role he reprised in the Deep Space Nine episode "Blood Oath".

Campbell also starred in the cult horror films Dementia 13 (1963) and Blood Bath (1966). Dementia 13 was a low-budget picture produced by Roger Corman and directed by a young Francis Ford Coppola.

William Campbell stared in many TV shows and movie films from yesteryear. He played some interesting parts and certainly was versatile. In some photos, he looked a bit like Cornel Wilde to me. He was born in Newark, NJ.

Many celebrities and notables came from the Garden State, and the nearby New York area. New Jersey was a hot spot for early films, radio, inventions, Edison, and nearby New York for TV, Broadway, Tesla, and "the city that never sleeps."
