This versatile actor to me is often best remembered for his dramatic tough guy roles...."see" while chomping on a cigar. Interestingly though, and perhaps because it was his last film, I just don't know, but I enjoyed his overall performance perhaps the best as "the book"...Sol Roth, in 1973s Soylent Green with Charleton Heston. (Both were also in the iconic Ten Commandments.) Sure, he might have had more outstanding parts in other films, but there was just something about him in that 1973 sci-fi kind of film that just stuck with me. A true big screen film icon, who also played some fine parts on TV also.
