Subject: Martin Landau on Bela Lugosi

I came in the room to see Marty on TCM talking about Bela. I didn't catch all of it, but some. He said Bela was so elegant an actor and man and also how they (Hollywood) discarded him in the business. Lugosi was a rare gem. We were lucky to have him.

Frankly, Landau was great in that part as Lugosi in the Ed Wood movie. Suggest watching entire movie...its humorous, gives a taste of budget flicks for sure back then, and Landau's expressions, accent, and performance is not to be missed.

Ed Wood (1994) is an outstanding film, with Martin Landau's portrayal of Bela Lugosi the highlight of the picture.

Johnny Depp also does a nice job as the title character, the director of such low-budget films as Bride of the Monster (1955) and Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959).
