Anthony Warde played his part well as Killer Kane in 1939s Buck Rogers. While not like Ming in FG, Kane had his own earthling type gangster/racketeer style in 2440 that was, to me anyway, entertaining.... kinda like a futuristic Joe Pesci doing mobster/thug parts, but Kane didn't smile or kid around much. As to his accent, dunno, Warde was born in Pennsylvania.

Warde also played Turan, king of the forest people in 1938s FGTTM. He played many parts as a gangster in films, and was in early TV as well, a lot of spots in various series programs from yesteryear. Warde can be often seen on TCM, similar to Wheeler Oakman. I'll be darned if I can recall the names of the films, and many of his parts were uncredited. As for favorite films he was in, for now I'll have to say Killer Kane, Turan, and various mobster movies in general. He was also in other serials, and Houdini, Topper, some Charlie Chan movie, hmm... here's a twist....some comedies like Abbott and Costello. Anthony Warde was a versatile type, but to me, his thug characters were among the best if you really look. If the timing were different, this guy might have been great with a part in the Godfather movies.
