The first time I went to Hollywood was in 1962 with my parents. I can remember seeing the Hollywood sign, Universal Studios, Grauman's Theater, The Brown Derby, and Dino's where "77 Sunset Strip," one of my favorite TV shows was filmed.

The second time was in 1991. By thta time, The Brown Derby was gone, and so was Dino's.

I took in Universal City, The Queen Mary and The Spruce Goose.

I tried to take a look at the "Beverly Hillbilies" Mansion, but all I could see was the roof.

I went to Grauman's again, which was changed to Mann's, but was basically the same with a few new prints in the cement.

I climbed those long steps on Vendome st where The Laurel & Hardy short, "The Music Box" and The Three Stooges short, "An Ache in Every Stake" was filmed. That was quite a climb.

Alas, the old Hollywood is gone now, but thankfully we still have the film classics, and those old Hollywood Newsreels to watch.
