The distinguished "Samuel S Hinds" was a real lawyer until 1929. He became an actor after the stock market crash. He is usually seen as a judge, a doctor, lawyer, politician, or a high ranking military officer in most of his films.

Hinds is probably best known by many as "Pa Bailey" in
"It's a Wonderful Life" because of all the exposure this film has had on TV.

I'm pretty eclectic about this. Samuel S. Hinds is like a can of PRINGLES...you can't have just one. (vbg) My favourite performances,though, are "Pa Bailey", in IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, "Judge Thatcher" in THE RAVEN, and "Dr. Lawrence" in MAN MADE MONSTER.

I also liked BLACK LEGION immensely. Hinds had a VERY small speech at the end,...but when you heard it, you knew that THE LAW HAD SPOKEN!!!
