Evelyn was one of Anne Gwynne's best friends and became another familiar face in Universal's films.

With regards to Evelyn Ankers. I really can't choose. She was so lovely. If I had to choose, though, I would pick "Gwen Conliffe", in THE WOLFMAN, The cockney "tart", Kitty, in SHERLOCK HOLMES & THE VOICE OF TERROR, "Naomi Drake", in PEARL OF DEATH,and of course, her stint in WEIRD WOMAN. The fact that Evie and Annie could take stock
"screamers" and make totally individual, charming characters in each film... ...it's nothing short of amazing!

I can't top Dan's list. Evelyn was one of the great horror heroines of the 1940s.
