Subject: Who is your favourite Baroness Frankenstein?

Here's a new one! Have many charming ladies. Mae Clarke and Valerie Hobson..both Playing Elizabeth von Frankenstein. Then, Josephine Hutchinson, playing Henry Frankenstein's daughter-in-law, Elsa von Frankenstein. We know that Wolf von Frankenstein and Elsa had a son, Peter, but apparently that line ended. Henry's other son, Ludwig had the luscious Evelyn Ankers as daughter Elsa II, and ANOTHER Elsa turns up in FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN. Elsa III, played by Ilona Massey.

I must admit to loving Valerie Hobson. She was so very young and lovely, and fit James Whale's vision perfectly.

I would have to agree and choose Valerie Hobson of Bride of Frankenstein, with Mae Clarke of Frankenstein as a close second. I also enjoyed Ms Hobson's performances in Universal's The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Werewolf of London and The Great Impersonation, all from 1935.

I too liked Valerie Hobson the best. Next would be Mae Clarke. Then I'd go with Evelyn Ankers and Ilona Massey.

I didn't really care much for Josephine Hutchinson.
