Subject: Horror/Drama Link

Hey guys...while I'm mostly interested in the Flash Gordon part of this site, I'll sometimes post in the Horror/Drama section. The latter may come from memory (hmm), some old VHS tapes perhaps, maybe a TCM or PBS showing, sometimes a DVD, occasionally bargain bin store "stuff" or garage sales, perhaps websites, books maybe, chit chats with friends, etc. I got into this since a lot of music used in Flash Gordon serials were often from Universal mostly Horror/Drama type movies. I enjoyed these movies also as a kid, and still do....but you guys are the knowledgeable fans-gurus/experts of this horror/drama material.

Ok...I stumbled upon a site recently...likely you're aware of it, if not, great...then we all gain from my luck. It's a site that links horror, drama, monster stuff galore! It impressed me, as eg, a site I came across awhile ago checking on Flash Gordon "stuff" called Janet's Star Trek Voyager. Humongous.. with info galore! Now, I came across this for horror/drama...kinda falls in humongous category, for me anyway. (Perhaps it's a regular to you.) Well, if you like, go there, scroll all the way down to very bottom of page, and click onto the "Navigation Bar" in various parts. When you get a chance, let me know what you think. If you've a interesting site, please advise...never too old to learn some things. So, try this:

I haven't come across this site until now. It looks like a winner. No matter how much I think I know about horror and drama, I always find something I didn't know.

I got into the horror stuff first and then I started watching the serials.

The only Flash Gordon serial I have so far is,
"Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe."

But by and by I plan on owning them all.

Hope that horror-wood site does stay on line Tim...looks good so far....maybe not everything in it, but plenty to learn and enjoy.

Dan...do add the 1939 Buck Rogers serial to your list as well.

Enjoy chatting with you guys and reading your posts. Take care

I discovered the horror-wood site some time back, and it is indeed a fascinating resource with lots of fun and informative articles, interviews, reviews, etc. Most of the stuff I've seen there has been horror-related, I haven't seen much drama material, but I haven't read the site's entire contents by any means! It is a humongous place, as Officer Torch said.

I believe it was started back in the 1990s by Joseph Meadows, who wrote tons of stuff there under the name Renfield. Sadly, Joe passed away in 2006, but someone is keeping the horror-wood site available online so fans can continue to enjoy it.

Tim
