Subject: Frankenstein -- who's that gravedigger?

Has anyone run across who played the gravedigger in the opening scene of Frankenstein? He looks so self assured and happy with his work he seems like he must have been a contract player who shows up in lots of other films, but no books or IMdB have his name. Thanks for any help!

An extra was used, but no screen credit was given for the scene. We may never know.
