Subject: Hazel Court

I have learned from one of Rick's other message boards that Hazel Court recently passed away. She was a fine actress that many fans will remember for her roles in three Roger Corman features...Premature Burial (1962), The Raven (1963) and The Masque of the Red Death (1964).

She played the part of Elizabeth in the Hammer Films production The Curse of Frankenstein (1957). Its success resulted in a long series of Hammer horror films, as well as the eventual horror icon status of actors Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

I also remember her in "The Fear" from the final season of The Twilight Zone, and in an episode of Bonanza from its first season.

The only time I recall seeing her in more recent years was in the A&E biography of Vincent Price that first aired in late 1993. She and Price were close friends.

Hi Tim!

Thanks for posting about Hazel Court, an attractive and talented actress who left her mark in several significant Horror films. I looked her up on IMDb, and she had an interesting career, and a full life. May she Rest In Peace.

Hazel attended the 2005 Bonanza convention at Tahoe and the fans loved her. She is best remembered on the show as Lady Dunsworth in "The Last Trophy". More details are at my Bonanza website.
