Subject: Perry Cooper, a friend of mine.

Tis' by chance & circumstance we meet people in our lives that have meaning
& become friends, ever if we're not in-touch on a daily basis. You have a
kindred-spirit with these souls, a connection in life that transcends
contact on a regular routine. This was my relationship with Perry. We met on
a sultry June night in New Orleans on Bourbon Street outside of the Absinthe
House on the 1988 "Non-Stop Go" Robert Plant tour. As Percy & crew partyed
inside along with Ahmet & other Atlantic Executives, jumping to Blues of the
night, Perry step out, for a breath of fresh among a gaggle of fans eagerly
awaiting a glimps of Mr. Plant, and struck up a conversation with me about
my photographing not only the show but the fans as well. Having explaining
my lifes dedications to documention Led Zeppelin & their solo careers for
future generations, I told Perry, "this & fifty cents would buy me a cup of
coffee", but I believed in their music & all the memories attached to it, so
this was my lot in life. Much to my surprise, Perry thought this a noble
cause & we spent the better part of the evening sharing life's tales & the
things that put into motion the wheels that shape our Destiny's. He as a
great help in my future dealings with Robert, and reacquainted me with him.
For this I'm eternally greatful. I stayed in touch with Perry over the years
& shared a few dinner & cocktails along the way. He also sheltered my
daughter in the jungle of New York on one of her visits. To my forever
sorry, I missed a planned meeting with him about a year ago in Atlanta to
hear the Beatle Tribute band he was working with, due to other commitments.
This shall forever make me remember that friends will always come first now
in my life. Perry was always there for his. To you, Perry, I'll alway have a
spot in my heart, a thought of you in my prayers & the visions of a little
boy, getting his picture taken with the Beatles that started his Destiny in
the wonderful & dangerous world Music. Thanks for everything.
