As I understand it, God is one of the spirits, one of the good spirits, while there are other kinds of spirits too. It has been written, without proof, that it depends on your own behavior what kind of spirits contact you. Good people are helped by good spirits to get better, while bad people are helped by bad spirits to get worse. Ignore the religion fiction that is available to everybody, including people who have NO contact with God or other spirits. Many of these people are exploited by money-grabbing so-called "holy" religions because they have no communication with spirits who could/would help them.
..... Look for coincidences, unusual favorable happenings, and often give thanks to God and other helpful spirits. Thoughts are enough, no need for rituals, prayers, attendance at religious services, nor attempted bribery of God by giving money to clergy. Be a "good" person, and hopefully you will get help whenever you need it. But do NOT rely on God to do anything for you. God didn't help Jesus, nor Hitler, nor Bush, for examples.
