Subject: Come to a Houston book event about pageants: The Rhinestone Sisterhood reading

David Valdes Greenwood, author of The Rhinestone Sisterhood: A Journey Through Small Town America, One Tiara at a Time, is coming to Houston next week to appear on Great Day Houston (KHOU) and to do a reading from the book at Brazos Bookstore on Friday night July 30 at 7pm.

The Rhinestone Sisterhood is the first book about the festival queen pageant tradition, and captures the true story of four “sisters of the sash”—the Frog, Fur, Cotton, and Cattle Queens of Louisiana—and their quest to win the ultimate crown, Queen of Queens. High-spirited yet down-home, suspenseful and genuinely moving, The Rhinestone Sisterhood is perfect for anyone who has ever wanted to be a princess. Jill Connor Browne calls it a "must-read" and says, "Ya'll will love it!"
