In reply to: 's message, "Crystals & Rhinestones" on 16:46:26 03/11/01 Sun

Since I don't even sew, I'm pretty clueless as to the best way to do this. See, I'm making decorated T-shirts for my dance school and I found out the hard way that sequins lose their color even when you gently hand-wash them! They were applied with tacky glue and can be pulled off easily. I'd like to replace them with rhinestones and since I'm using acrylic (I know they are of lesser quality, but they're cheaper and easily available; these are only T-shirts, remember) I wondered would they hold better if I used a glue gun instead of a tacky glue? Or is this a bad idea and should I invest in crystal and the rhinestone gun?

-“Aleen's” has a rhinestone glue that is washable. I bought it for dresses, but it cannot be dry-cleaned. I have been told that it holds up well in the wash.

The cheaper crystals are fine on the dresses until you have them cleaned, then they fog up. You can always change out the crystals depending on how you attach them. Delta has a good drycleanable jewel glue or you can use the metal prongs.
