He saw no threat to anything. Since the royalty was long since dead and gone, his duties as the pack guardian were null, but old habits died hard. He turned his head sharply at the sound of bushes rusting. a squirrel. I am losing it. He mumbled to himself. His pack, and family were long since dead, and his lonely paranoia grew by the day. He had been wandering for many a sun, and just wanted to find a place where his skills and wit were needed. He was trained in many forms of fighting, and his other skills were… well lets not get into that now. He was a guard, or a keeper of anything needing guarding. Loyalty was his main attribute, but his was also loving and kind. And don’t forget about this sense of humor. His eyes fell to the ground. Kala, why did you leave? he howled. His thoughts turned to his young children, now dead. Leif, Zada, Sky. Well, most likely dead. No one knew what had happened to the keeper’s family, just that his beloved mate Kala was killed. They had found her body. That was all he had been told. Heartbroken he hadn’t thought of his pups, just left. After all, only Sera and Cheal had survived the brutal attack. He had been trying to keep the royal family safe and failed. In the effort he had been almost killed himself. Why? was the question he howled to the winds. He had been inwardly torn apart.
