Isn’t there a song that goes ‘Even if she has to run away, she’s gonna marry that boy someday’? To sing such a song would be any stallion’s demise.
The stag dipped his muzzle slightly in respect to his superior. “I am not one to meddle in the art of affection and ardor, milord. But if you truly love this maiden, and she you, then she has a right to go where she pleases.” He turned to look upon the fiery mare; his eyes showed no emotion. He was a cool dark figure, a mere silhouette against the horizon.
He sighed “Here I can only offer you a position. With him you can have a heart. The choice is up to you.” He sold her, the richness of his dulcet tones like velvet in the growing darkness. Some stallions battled over the smallest things, and believed another stallion lesser for declining a confrontation. But
Casablanca was not one of these stallion. He believed his mares had the right to make up their own minds, especially one he did not know nor yet have feelings for.
A hoary moon hung morosely in the sky, it’s pale light illuminating the three equines below. Casablanca awaited a response.
