Casablanca had been grazing. His head snapped up as a shrieking whinny shattered the airwaves. His ears flicked in different directions until the source of the sound was located. He broke into a smooth, extended trot, deep, calm eyes surveying the familiar landscape.
At last he sees the mare whose outcry he had perceived. He slows to a walk and stops a comfortable distance away. “Is milady all right?” he asks her, his voice is a smooth flow of dulcet tones. A cool breeze tousles his mane and tugs his tail around his legs. His tail, although held high over his muscular, athletic haunches, maintains contact with the ground.
The sunlight played across his charcoal colored coat, accentuating the subtle bulge of conditioned muscle. His neck is naturally arched. Pricked ears are tilted forward atop his dark, handsome head. He silently awaits her response.
