Behind the counter he is holding a hard-core lesbian bondage magazine, clutched in his greasy left hand like a club. He waves your hand away when you forget to pay the three cents tax, and watches you exit with a smile.

As soon as the sun goes out; prostitutes, strippers, and dealers clamor for sidewalk. High-school graduates ceremonially smoke crack underneath a STOP sign while a happy couple makes out on the roof of the local high-school.
It's a deceptive sort-of place, just like any other big city. There are shopping malls and hotels, skating rinks and water-parks... but as in any other city it has its dark alleyways, its crooked smiles and untrustworthy tongues.
