Author: horse territory
Subject: v.diversity breeds discord

Decades and decades ago, an ordinary stallion discovered a huge amount of unoccupied land. His name was Silver Mist, and the land that he discovered later became known as Horse Territory. The buckskin stallion's dream was to have horses from all over come to Horse Territory, reside, and start families of their own. It wasn't long before his dream came true. Horses from everywhere flocked to the land. Big horses, small horses, chestnut horses, two-toned horses, mares, stallions, horses with flaws - absolutely all different sorts of equines. Not a single horse was the same. There was a chunk of territory to suit every horse that came to the land. There were waterfalls, beaches, forests, mountains, and every type of terrain that a horse could imagine. Silver Mist ruled over one of the most beautiful harems in Horse Territory. It was known as Diamond Falls. Other horses soon claimed the other territories, and Silver Mist contently watched over everyone. There was little conflict between horses. Everyone seemed to get along. It was amazing how such a diverse group of horses could live in harmony. Even when the humans came, there was little disruption in the lives of the equines of Horse Territory. The humans only occupied a very small portion of the land. They didn't bother the horses and rarely did the horses bother them. Eventually, the wolves moved in. However, they kept to themselves, too. They never proved to be a threat to either the horses or the humans. So, there they were - horses, humans, and wolves - all living in peace. Like every living creature, though, there came a time for death. By the time that all of this had happened, Silver Mist had become quite old. However, by the time he passed away, he had given birth to quite a few foals. Silver Mist's legacy lived on...

To this day, the horses, wolves, and humans live in peace. Every now and then, there is minor conflict between species. Horse Territory has changed a lot since the beginning, but it is still a large land full of a diverse creatures who somehow manage to live without causing chaos amongst themselves. Even now, descendants of Silver Mist reside in Diamond Falls. Silver Mist is known by a lot of horses of the land because the stories of his discovery of Horse Territory are still told. Though memories of the great Silver Mist are slightly faded, his spirit still lives on in Horse Territory.

Some would say that diversity breeds discord...

but not in Horse Territory. Well, not always.
