Subject: I am very aggravated at the childrens hosp. here....

My middle son is the one with arthritis. He has been taking Methotrexate shots every week from home. I went to get his refill refilled, and ran in to problems, which eventually got worked out, but in th process of having the problems, I found out that I was suppose to be throwing away the bottle and getting a new refill every 30 days! Here is the thing...NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THAT!!!! Not even on the bottle did it say discard then, it said discard after a year! I got his first bottle in June, and it just now ran out for me to get a refill. Sooooo.....I've been giving my son medicine that should have been thrown out 5 freakin months ago! They apologized for not telling me, but Im like omg are you kidding me? I mean really? And the other thing is, why write a script for so much, if Im suppose to throw 3/4 of it away after 30 days??? The refill I got, I have 2 more doses to give out of it, and then throw it away, and its gonna be throwing away 3/4 of that bottle too! Its totally stupid to waste money like that for one, and for two, TELL THE PARENT WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO DO! She said he would be fine, if he wasnt having a rash or trouble breathing or anything like that...O....M.....G.....!!!!!!!!!!!!
