Governor Palin was no doubt chosen for a variety of reasons, but I’ve little doubt her gender played a major, major role in that decision. She was the obvious answer to Hussein’s supposed snub of Shrillary for VP (I guarantee she made it very clear up front she didn’t want it, but that’s a different issue. I’m talking about public perception here.). She complements McLame nicely in a number of areas: her youth and good looks versus his age, her solid conservatism versus his bed-wetting liberalism, her pro-life and pro Second Amendment credentials versus his general indifference to these issues, etc. She helps with the hard-core Conservative crowd, the evangelical crowd, and of course, the disenfranchised Shrillary supporters. Just as importantly, Biden will have a difficult time debating her effectively, precisely because of her gender. (Sexist perhaps, but reality.) Even her inexperience will be hard for the Manchurian Muslim to counter effectively, as she’s a veritable elder statesman experience-wise, when contrasted against the 143-day junior Senator. She was a good choice for McLame.

Even so, I still can’t vote for McLame. I’m done with the ‘lesser of two evils’ game, which I blame for consistently giving us two ‘evils’ from which to choose, every damn election. McLame has considerably more political savvy than I originally gave him credit for, but I still don’t like him any better. On the other hand, Governor Palin has a bright future ahead of her within the Party. I wish her all the luck in the world.
