Two arrested after bizarre brawl on Mishawum Road

WOBURN - A Woburn man and a Medford woman were arrested and an Everett woman was placed into protective custody after a bizarre brawl on Mishawum Road, Tuesday morning.

The Medford woman, 27, was charged with assault and battery and malicious destruction of property valued at more than $250.

The Medford woman was taken to Winchester Hospital for treatment of various minor injuries. Police reported she was so disruptive at the hospital she had to be handcuffed to her bed there.

The Woburn man, 35, was charged with assault and battery.

The Everett woman, 20, was detained due to her apparent intoxication. She was reportedly released to her mother.

Police initially responded to a report of a woman, who turned out to be McGlashing, down on the ground, with the Everett woman, who told police she was a medical technician, administering CPR.

The Medford woman was reportedly upright when police arrived, but as officers approached her she became "aggressive and agitated," and was "obviously intoxicated."

Police also noted she had a bloody nose and scratches on her left wrist, injuries which she claimed were as a result of a dispute with the Woburn man in his home.

She was treated and transported to Winchester Hospital, and along the way was "uncooperative and aggressive" in the ambulance. In the emergency room, she reportedly ripped an IV out of her arm, then pulled out her tongue ring and swallowed it.

After being discharged from Winchester Hospital, the woman was taken to Woburn Police headquarters and booked on the aforementioned charges.

The Woburn man's home showed apparent signs of a confrontation, including broken bottles and a damaged television set. The Woburn man reported the Medford woman punched him in the face several times, and then smashed the rear window of his vehicle as she was leaving his house.

Police noted the left side of the Woburn man's face was red and slightly swollen, but he did not apparently require medical attention.

No one involved in the dispute indicated what prompted it.

The Everett woman told police she had met the Medford woman and the Woburn man the night before, and was apparently partying with them into the morning. Police noted the Everett woman was in possession of three bottles of beer in her coat.

Officers Michael Piazza, David Simonds, Mark Shaughnessy, Robert DeNapoli, Charles Stokes Sr. and Det. Michael Pandolph investigated.

The incident was logged at 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday.

(No, I don't know where 'Woburn' is!)
