Subject: My youngest had surgery Tuesday...

He had a what they call a "lop ear" (sp?) He has had it since birth, where one of his ear just sticks out farther than the other. He would always ask me if I could take him to Walmart to fix his ear. I waited till he was 8, thinking it might look different the bigger his head got, but it still looked the same. My husband is considering changing jobs (a whole other story I'm scared to death of), and if he does, we won't have insurance for a year, so I figured it was time to do it now. He is coping well, but he's on prescription pain medicine. His ear is 3 times the size it will end up being, because it's so swollen, but, I think he will be so much happier when it goes down. The dr. said it went excellent and he was absolutely pleased, so all is good. He has his head wrapped like he had brain surgery or something..:(
