Turn down the thermostat! Everyone I know, without exception, who regularly gets sick or suffers from colds keeps their house all closed up and very warm—way too warm to suit me.

My wife and I go five and six years between bouts of any sort of illness. And we hardly use heat. Mainly because I'm cheap. We sleep with an open window by our heads even when it's in the thirties, and we wear sweaters and sweatshirts around the house and keep the thermostat set to the low sixties in our place in winter. Everyone around us gets sick every year, and usually more then once, just like a winter ritual. We just shake our heads. FWIW
