The killing Fields as documented, recalled and remembered.


Within certain rural, work camps of cultivation of rice. These were jungled work camps of torture, extermination, those disappearing in the middle of the night if these individuals would run afoul of the COMMUNIST ruling Khmer Rouge of Pol Pot...


Cambodian youth were herded off to tent like schools within these enslaved work camps for brainwashing and indoctrination techniques.


The indoctrination/brainwashing would be of 3 to 5 hours daily. This was to turn these same Cambodian youths against their parents, against their traditional upbringings, against their loyalty to the families.


The crux of the matter was to divide, destroy, decimate Cambodian society and pitting children against their parents as COMMUNISTS are always noted for through the bloody history of rule......


One particular scene of the movie, book, novel, "THE KILLING FIELDS" would illustrate these very same indoctrination/brainwashing schools of Khmer Rouge COMMUNIST PROPAGANDA which was held in a open air, tent complex. A heavy monsoon downpour of rain was coming down as recalled and remembered....


Families were divided from each other with the youth of Cambodia especially being targeted for indoctrination and brainwashing, COMMUNIST propaganda means..

These families were former town and city dwellers forces marched across Cambodia into these hellhole rice paddy "work camps".

In all reality these were starvation and death camps of madness, torture, exploitation, mass murder and trial conducted by Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge radical followers as indicated and observed.


The Cambodian youth could range from five years of age to about 12. 13, 14 or15 years of age....

In other words to rat/fink on their parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. That is, if the same family members would be so inclined to question and be counter of COMMUNIST KHMER ROUGE authority and rule..

This is where many of those would either "drop-pot-of-sight", "disappear-in-the-middle-of-the-night" never to be seen or heard from ever again.....


Rice cultivation was the only economy allowed and permitted under the agrarian, brutal, murderous, GENOCIDAL Pol Pot/Khmer Rouge regime.


Cambodia lost approximate 25% of its population across the country due to the murderous POL POT/ KHMER ROUGE regime...


If enslaved within these rice paddy "work-camps" your daily pay was of one small bowl of rice guaranteed to you... Again, these were starvation camps with a certain death imprint affixed to them...


Under the GENOCIDAL/MURDEROUS Pol Pot/Khmer Rouge COMMUNIST regime, Cambodia for a period of time was renamed...

"The Democratic Republic of Kampuchea".... (1975-1979)



Cambodia as a communist ruled hellhole was aligned to the Peoples Republic of China for mutual economic assistance, political and military logistics reasons and circumstances.

The Pol Pot regime looked upon the Soviet Union too revisionist, too oriented to the west, too compromising when it came to the west, the United States and its allies..
