I agree. If you want to counter any stereotypes or negative images about your people, don't try to force the issue. Debate, use reason, use common sense, and just be mellow about it. If someone tries to physically harm you over the issue, then do what it takes to defend yourself.
Likewise, if someone also slanders your ethnicity to the point where you feel you have to let loose, then do so. I'm not saying that you can't get pissed if someone slags your nationality, it just depends on the severity of it.
But doing what the Italians on the Italians ADL do, like threats of arrest and bullshit about neo nazis thrown into the mix, that only perpetuates the negative image even more. More-so than any sort of media.
It's all so fucking recycled and repetitive, they're loud and vulgar about what they do, and they EXPECT people to be afraid of them because of it.
