Depending on where you are, they may be pricey or if you plan on having them shipped from a breeder.....but they aren't that high actually. And as for space, I have had them in a parakeet cage and they were as happy as can be and even nested and raised their young very well. Mine are all in outdoor aviaries now, but they are pretty adaptable.
