HEY! You're cooking with gas over there with those birds! I stopped paying attention to the doves and finches for a while....sure enough there are 5 new zebra finches flying around, 3 new laceneck doves, and FINALLY the diamond doves are sitting on their eggs.....which should hatch any day if they haven't already....I just kind of let them be ... it's a good thing though.....I've been waiting so long for them to breed.
I want some of those owls so bad....speaking of, how cold hardy would you say they are?
You know how we all talk about buttons not being cold hardy? We've had some seriously ODD weather in which waters have been frozen in the morning and throughout the night, hoses frozen and won't let water out....scary.....yet the buttons have been thriving....granted no eggs, but they are fat and healthy and look better than ever before....they are in excellent feather....so I'm thinking they are a little stronger than we all give them credit....and they could care less about going inside their cover box....they sit in a tight circle so each one is facing a different direction, it's the cutest thing.
