Subject: Wild Chickens

Yep, there's chickens that run wild all over this neighborhood. They are actually a little out of hand because they are those game fighting chickens, look a lot like the Red Jungle Fowl/original chicken.....but they must have been someone's birds and then they moved and left the area and just tossed them all out and they've thrived. Many of the neighbors don't like them around because every year they hatch new chicks, the hawks eat very well....but again, it's a nightmare worrying about disease and the fact that they kind of act like they own an area....especially the back half of my property. We moved the hay to the patio to keep it out of the rain because we don't have a barn or hay shelter....and one of the chickens made a nest on top of it in this little corner area....and now there are 4 eggs. I am leaving them there until HOPEFULLY one decides to go broody and then I will catch her at night and that will eliminate one along with the eggs.
