Well I do have to say a friend of mine out here, yes I have ONE friend LOL.....she bought the Brinsea OVA Easy cabinet bator....NOT one of Brinsea's better products mind you.....but that's a whole new post for later.....she wrote a wonderful letter to their headquarters and voiced her thoughts on the cabinet bator and how she unpacked it and instantly felt it was not up to their standards as far as quality. They got back to her the very next day and addressed every single one of her concerns. Granted she, nor any of us, agreed with some of their points....basically construction of the unit seems flimsy for what it is supposed to be.....but it does function and operate just as a Brinsea...perfect! However one of their answers was regarding a PLASTIC hatching tray....yes you read that correctly...PLASTIC.....now we have all hatched button quail and plenty of other fowl....what is god's name would a professional company like Brinsea be thinking by using slipper plastic for a hatching tray? Well....my friend called it waxed cardboard and that IS what it looks like....but they must have had a tremendous amount of complaints on that because they just finished development of new hatching trays AND some egg trays that will be included with future purchases....there were ZERO egg trays of any kind that came with the OVA to begin with.....and they offered her a full set of egg trays and a new hatching tray free of charge. Granted she is still not super happy with the unit overall, she was impressed with their response to her proving how they are very customer service oriented.
So just an FYI for anyone out there looking at new bators, etc..... personally I wouldn't do it again, I'd do another Sportsman and although the idea was for me to get a brand new bator and sell of my Sportsman (which was second hand to start with) I will now be keeping the Sportsman because I feel at this point it is superior in quality.

It’s Never A Dull Moment!
