Were-ever possible the government and their arm the police will avoid investigating abuse cases that occurred in Approved Schools. just consider how many have ever been publicised. Court Lees was an exception and the intervention of the national press forced the government's arm.

The reason for the hush-up is that Approved Schools utimately came under the control of the Home Office, ie, the Government regardless of which body actually had day to day control of the school.

The authorities are happy to see celebs bought to book. They can tolerate tales coming out of children's homes which were run by local authorities, but the truth about abusive treatment in Approved Schools is being hushed up, records locked away for decades until we are all dead and the whole matter can be quietly forgotten and embarrassment (and compensation for so many abused people) will be avoided by the Government.
