Hi Jimi
I havent been on this forum in a coons age, Then I went into nostalgia mode and looked it up. Yes I remember Nodder Nichols, he played the piano. What a nice old chap he was too. While I was there Leautenant Glynn ran the cadets. The head (Billy J) Skermer was actually a captain but no sign of a major. I did go back to Werrington just the once. It was a promise kept. While I was there myself James Patterson and Kieth Bailey worked out how old we would be in the year 2000 and promised to return on our birthdays that year. James sadly passed away from cancer a couple of years ago and didnt go. Kieth I lost contact with. It was pretty heartbreaking returning and seeing the state it was in at that time. All being renovated and the guts were torn out of the place. the memories flooding back was an amazing experience. things I had forgotten suddenly came to the fore upon turning a corner. Unfortunately I didnt venture inside for safety reasons.
I have no photos of the place, just one from my time there
it can be found at

Taken down by the river. I am 4th on the front row, taken in 67.
