Subject: starnthwaite ghyl

I was at starnthwaite from 1971 to 1976 I first went into Kent house there were quiet a few from Burnley the ones i can remember the two Britton brother Sid and can't remember the other first name there was a Steven Morris some one called Guthrie I think and other names a Carney from I think Carlisle. Spibey don't know where from there was an Edwards he stopped me going to crystal palace exhibition cause I punched him in the showers for bullying me lol seem a life time ago now teachers names Griffiths the main man lived in th big house at the entrance. Mr martin lived in the houses on the main road Mr gee (egg head) nicknamed was releas for after the shape of his nut Mr wall lived in a flat just over the main entrance in to the building Mr thwaites the two handy men Hinckley and clarkson I was released I think in 73 only for 6 month as I couldn't get on with outside schools I missed the out door activities if truth be known any back I came then went in to Gilpin house where I made lofty rank of prefect and kept been over looked for head boy it was me who helped Mr Gee the woodwork teacher build the Indian canoe the sailing canoe and also the starnthwaite dory as she was called I went down to the Norfolk broads with a few more to have a holiday on a massive sailing barge called the Norfolk wherry I was released for good on the 12.11.76 two days before my 16th birthday would I go back if I could you bet your life I would happy memories after I left it wasn't long before my youngest brother followed in my foot steps and too was sent to starnthwaite ghyl
