Subject: Re: Herts training school

Hi, I was at HTS in 1965 and was in Oliver House with Mr Tranter. Mr Harding was Head and his wife was the Dentist,....and their were his daughters ha.

I was made No1 (kitchen boy) and used to walk the masters tea to the departments every morning and afternoon, and worked in the kitchen. I remember Charlie the Pig down the farm.

In the summer of 1966 I was released to the Hostel at 17 Collett Road Ware. At that time the amazing Mr and Mrs Morgan were in charge of the Hostel. I worked that summer at The Cannons Hotel Ware as a waiter.

I remember inmates: Vick Ship from Romford, Ibrahim from Cable Street, John Batchelor from Hornsey (still friends with John) and loads of faces and memories, but sadly no more name come to mind!?

Hearts Training School was a Great place, although we might not have thought so at the time.

For approximately 6 years of my life I was in minor trouble with the police, but in the last 48 years I have never ever been in any trouble and have a lovely family with two grown up daughters and two grandchildren. I've been with my wife for 46 years and married for 43,.....so not everything that went in to and came out of HTS was bad! :) Andy
