Hi all Ex Cotswold approved school boys in the 50s ..60s The reunion first week of OCT this year.
We met at the C.A.School for a small reunion 5 of us none of us under 70 year of age Ron S...Dapper D his wife.. John The Con…mike Robbo... Colely nothing was arranged nothing planed …It was Dapper D first visit since he left! He had a few very emotional flash back memories … all the memories came flooding back of the immaculate tidy lawns and flower borders…. (Now overgrown and a mess) .. Building the roads and laying the concrete… Painting the buildings …and the hive of activity of groups of lads being escorted to and from there chores (now empty and silent) the place was deserted and eerie.
We even had access into the great hall chapel and sweet shop …John The Con “for absconding” spent a few week in the jug (one room jail) now gone demolished.
Remembering the 6 a clock early morning roll call where we lined up outside the 3 houses… come rain or shine (shouting out are names and number SIR)
Big Ron S ..Had his pigeon loft in the orchard near the staff living quarters!... Remembering old man puffer Blackburn (Garden dept ) standing over us as we planted the little apple sapling. We all ended up in the apple orchard with bags of cookers and lovely red eaters, Blackburn would go red in the face and blow a gasket bless him. We had apple pie for a few weeks
We spent 4 hours walking round reminiscing the 3 years we spent there 60 years ago.
We all decided to visit the village pub for a pint and meal and more chat. Every body agreed it was a smashing day. Best of all we have became a band of brothers again after 60 years.
So any old C A School boy from the 50s 60s that would like to meet up please get in touch before its tooo late

All the best Mike R
