Subject: my education !!!!!

In about 1955 I was sent to the Welland (Worc') remand home at 11, judged to be beyond parental control, I didn't really understand why I was away from my adopted home, but I decided to run away I thought it was my only course of action to try and get back home. after 3 attempts I was sent to a larger school????
This was The Kingswood Assessment Center and went A.W.A.L again, why? I don't really recall, after about 10/12 weeks I was sent to the Cotswold School near Cirencester (approved of course)
A Mr C.A.Joyce was the head, he was on B.B.C.'s 20 questions.( which to this day I still believe is why they wanted no bad press....)
Where I start I don't know, I was in St George's house.
I was the youngest boy in the school when I first arrived,
as anyone who passed through will recall all the dorms where almost like small bedrooms, 3/4/5 beds per room. all the young guys would be in the dorms upstairs....
what went on? well.....
As 11 year old I thought the guys of 17+ were men!! they were men.....
As I recall the police arrived one day and most of the younger ones were interviewed, but it all went quiet....
I was there for 33 months.
When I got back to my home town I tried the exam to join my local technical college.
I didn't know what a decimal point was....
BUT!!!! Now I'm a very proud Grandad, so take care all you
people. BELIEVE in YOURSELF...
I'm only 64 but still learning....
