First of all, may i apologize for my English grammar, not good enough.
I am 22 years old, I am not trying to teach everyone something, but sharing. I was one grad in 2000 and seldom come here for reading. Today, the 50th openday of my school, I went back and had a look.
Remember my first time I took part in the openday was 40th, I acted as one school rep for saying 'welcome & thx for coming' to guests. Time won't stay, its 10 years ago. I have diff feeling about my younger schoolmates today.
I appreciate so much for those students contribute their time and sincere to SFX, their attitude is much better than enough. While, I believe, some of the helper may not willing to act as a school representative from their heart, as they are playing and laughing in front of guests.
But anyway, they are those Form 1 students.
Another positive point I wanna speak out is that, remember when I was still a Form 6 or 7 student in school, I met some students in lower form (may be F2,3) are impolite & immature; Today, I saw they've grown, they are xxx clubs chairman, yyy clubs committee, with polite manner and made presentation to guests, I promised they had paid effort on this,I had a smile from my heart. They really improved after a few years, because of what? By natural? By parents and teacher's teaching? Or, only because of they are one of the SFX?
I am proud to be a member of SFX, even I did not got any A or B from the HKCE, and even I had not been promoted to University in form 7. I would like to say thank you to SFX, all brothers, teachers, schoolmates (good/bad to me); I learnt alot from all of you.
My colleague at work, a woman who is more than 50, she told me the clearest diff between this and last generation is the 人情味, the young people in HK seldom show this to others (may be they have), but anger, dissatisfaction and self protected.
Before today, I still believe that the quality of our students had been changed and lowered. After the visiting today, I felt all of us have a period with disobey attitude, but, they will grow and become a mature youngman, responsible to school, to themselves and our society.
We cannot compare with yesterday, but more appreciation, more positive comments, more encouragement.
To my dearest schoolmates: What you are doing now is representing the name of St. Francis Xavier's College, the place you grow and learn, smile and tears. Somebody said that you have the responsibility to keep the reputation of SFX; But, in my mind, this is not a burden, do something right in your heart, but not in your mind; Mind changes every second; While everyone has a ruler in deep of heart, with different standard.
Economics has one assumption, I am not sure the exact wording, it seems to be...all people will act rationally and do something worth; Cost have to be bear if you do the wrong thing; While appreciation and good return will be follow by your effort.
May I wish everyone have a bright future and proud of SFX.
