Subject: My husband - a network engineer with AT&T - explained that there could be an advantage if coincidentally you are fewer hops away from your ISP - or if you are in an area with less traffic (more)
In reply to: Comcast cable modem 's message, "I'd be interested in knowing what ISPs were more likely to get into the feisworx site on Sat & Sun. I finally got in at about 4 PM on Sunday through comcast - went to the neighbors who had sbc DSL - and had no luck there either." on 08:11:58 10/31/05 Mon

For instance, I was wondering why someone (you know who you are!) in Geneva always gets in quickly, got White Sox tickets for the playoffs AND the world series and now got into WINTERFEIS! (Can those be compared? Winterfeis and World Series?) She lives in a brand new subdivision with more houses in the planning stages nearby, and he believes that comcast has over-engineered the area for future growth allowing her, inadvertently, faster access into their web hosting site and therefore faster access to wherever she is trying to go. We are all part of aggregated service into these ISPs - and there is not preferential treatment, but there could be advantages.
