Scene opens at a local Chicago bar, but not the HWA Bar & Grill. Inside there is a large crowd of people talking to each other and generally having fun. We zoom in on one table and there is John Taylor, his friend Sean Huntin, and his student and friend Allison Kempt. People are coming by and shaking Sean's hand. There is a sign behind him saying "Happy Birthday". Taylor continues to drink while Kempt sits there.
AK: It's a special occasion, can't I drink.
SH: On your next birthday, Allison.
JT: I'm not drinking because of my match on Friday. Going to show Mystic what it means to attack me.
SH: Yeah, yeah. At least have a little fun, man.
Some music plays and people begin to dance around. Allison gets up and streches a little.
AK: Does the Birthday Man want a dance?
SH: No, it's ok. Have fun.
AK: Suit yourself.
Allison goes out into the crowd and dances. Huntin smiles and laughs slightly. Taylor just looks on.
SH: That Allison. Her age tends to be her downfall. But at least she has fun. But she needs to have a little excitment now and then.
JT: We all have our little worries, Sean. You are worried about a student and a friend.
SH: What do you worry about?
JT: My career. I feel that if I don't do well in my next match, I will never elevate myself.
SH: You are over obssesive, though. You worry about so minor of things like it's your entire life at stake. Yet you have a back up option.
JT: I said I would consider your offer to be your partner in your pratice.
SH: Good, because I could use somebody like you. I can rely on students like Allison for so young before their age decieves them.
JT: Uh, Sean, we aren't even that much older.
SH: But remember what our teacher said. And how long we have trained. Since we were 8 years old, we were training. We know much more than we think we do.
Taylor remains slient and thinks about what is said. Hours pass and people start to become a little more drunk. Taylor is now seen talking to a bunch of people, fooling around with them.
JT: See, this is what I'm going to do to Mystic. First, I'm going to get in the ring, and when he charges after me, I'm going to sidestep him and deliver a kick to the back of his head knocking him senseless and out of the ring. Then when he comes back in the ring, I'll through him in the turnbuckle and continue to do repeated kicks to his gut, taking the wind out of him. Then I'm going to finish up with a new finisher I have been working on. He'll never know what hit him.
The crowd, obviously being drunk, cheer and hollar to Taylor, saying "Yeah, kick his ass" and such other thing. Taylor chuckles to himself as the crowd dispreses. Taylor begins to walk back to the table when Allison gets infront of him and dances.
AK: Are you having fun yet, Johnny?
JT: Yeah, having fun alright. You can tell these guys are drunk because they listened to every word I said.
Allison chuckles. Then the first slow song of the night begins to play(keep in mind several hours have pass). Taylor looks a little embarrssed. Allison slows down and looks at Taylor.
AK: It's a little akward to do a slow song by myself. So I need a partner.
JT: Why not birthday boy over...there?
John looks over at Sean who is already dancing with a blonde bombshell. Taylor looks a little shock, but then comes back to reality when Allison gets closer and wraps her arms around him. Allison begins to move along with the beat, with Taylor starting afterwards. Taylor just looks around while Allison stares right at him.
AK: Something wrong?
JT: No. My mind is just elsewhere. That's all.
AK: I see, worried about your "other" career?
JT: Somewhat, yeah.
AK: Why can't you be more like Sean. He's having fun. See?
Taylor looks over to see Sean and that blonde walk out of the bar.
AK: You need to relax a little more.
JT: I'll relax more after Friday, trust me.
AK: Sean gave me a little advice about you.
JT: What?
AK: When he says "trust me", don't. He tends to be untrustworthy at that time.
JT: He said that. I'll have to show him otherwise.
AK: I belive that will happen.
They both smile and laugh to themselves. The song ends and the crowd begins to leave the bar.
AK: I have to go, something important at home....but I hope you'll come by again sometime.
JT: Yeah, I will. Trust me.
AK: Don't say that, I wont believe you then.
JT: Ok, I'll come by. I promise.
Allison smiles and leaves the bar, leaving Taylor in the empty room.
JT: I always keep my promises, and somebody on Friday will know first hand that very same thing.
Taylor then leaves the bar as the scene fades.
