From my point of view your essay is very good. There are only a few comments that I’d like to make. Here they are.

- “According to ELLIS (1994) Penfield and Roberts (1959) argued that…”
I believe that Ellis mentioned Penfield and Roberts, so in order to make it clearer, add a comma after: According to ELLIS (1994).

- “… also brings problems for the Critical Period Hypothesis.”
I found “brings problems” too much informal. What about criticizes? Or maybe challenges?

- “Coppieters (1987) tested 21 american-native highly proficient speakers…”
Use capital letter for American-native…

Finally, I’d like to say that I don’t believe it’s necessary to write your purpose, audience, thesis, outline, etc.
