Subject: Hello visitors

I have noticed that on other forums that from time to time a thread will start about memories from many years ago. Lots of these memories are about things that will never be seen again. The old school buildings, the way we dressed, walking to school with 'the gang' and later, on those special once-a-year days, in dad's borrowed car. Then there are the less pleasant memories of detention, actually being failed in a subject and getting the strap.

At home we had CCM bicycles, our bag of marbles, a fort in a tree, a vacant lot down the street, a corner drug store with a soda fountain, church on Sundays, a stay at home mom, and then there were those mustard plasters and enemas when we were ill and being sent to our room, and worse, when we caused trouble.

As Dickens said, they were the best of times and the worst of times. I hope this forum will be a place where memories of the wonderful, the good, the bad, and the terrible can be recorded and kept alive.

Although retired I have a busy life and don't have time today to post a memory, but I will in the next day or two. In the meantime if anyone would like to start, I welcome you to do so.
